The firm’s principal, Mitchell S. Berman, is a 1972 graduate of Rutgers
College, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He received his law degree in 1975
from Temple University School of Law, winning the American
Jurisprudence Award in both torts and civil procedure, signifying the
highest grade in his class.
From 1975 to 1976, Mitchell was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable
Sonia Morgan, a Judge of the Appellate Division of the New Jersey
Superior Court. A number of his memoranda to the court became the
bases for published appellate decisions.
In 1976, he moved to Vineland, New Jersey where he became an
Associate in the firm of Shapiro, Eisenstat, Capizola, O’Neill & Gabage. He
eventually became a partner in the firm, which ultimately became known
as Eisenstat, Gabage, Berman & Furman.
In 2004, Mitchell opened his own firm, Mitchell S. Berman LLC,
concentrating on civil litigation. The firm has developed an expertise in
the representation of school districts, municipalities, businesses (most
often automobile and motorcycle dealerships and auto body shops) as
well as individuals in personal injury, wrongful death, commercial and
consumer related disputes.
Mitchell resides in Medford, NJ with his wife Gail, to whom he has been
married since 1972. He is the father of Jeremy Berman, a founding
partner of Wavecrest Asset Management of New York City, and Dr. Andy
Berman, a Pediatric Dentist and owner of Kids First Pediatric Dentistry in
Moorestown, New Jersey.
